Cruz Property was engaged as construction manager partway through construction following a near miss safety incident involving warehouse operational plant endangering construction workers. A full safety in design review was undertaken focusing on the interface between warehouse operations and construction. Several key design improvements were identified and adopted. Cruz Property worked closely with the builder and client teams to close out all outstanding RFIs incorporating client user requirements and safety recommendations. Cruz Property provided management, monitoring and direction of construction phasing to ensure, safety, quality and program were met.

The engagement involved taking over the project part way through the design process following a series of fire compliance issues that had stalled the project. Cruz Property provided leadership to resolve the statutory compliance issues in the ageing building and finalise client changes to achieve sign off. Construction works were managed to minimise disruption to an operational office while still achieving program and budget.
